Today is the first day of summer! Yeah!
With all the kids out of school for summer break it makes be long for school schedules with 3 months off for camps, hanging out and having fun. Going to work at the 9-5 is one of the signs of being an adult that I am still trying to getting used to. Good thing we have a vacation planned!
Not wanting to miss out on the summer fun I decided to create my summer bucket list. Being a planner type person this is not unusual for me to do. There is nothing more satisfying than making a list and crossing things off. Usually the lists are chores and tasks that have to get done that are not very fun. My summer bucket list is going to be … all about fun things I want to do!
(Wasn’t I a cutie! Look at that face I’m making. I think my mommy took this picture.)
Let’s get to the bucket list …
Make Pasta from Scratch
I love pasta! I could it eat almost every day. When I make it at home I have only made it from the box. The only times I have eaten fresh pasta is at restaurants and I can definitely tell a difference. I think it is about time that I learn to make it from scratch. There is something special about making food from basic ingredients and molding it from your hands. After all, we have the pasta roller attachment for the Kitchen Aid Mixer and it is still in the box. It is time to bust that thing out!
Dine at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery in San Diego
I read about this restaurant in a magazine and first feel in love with its name. Then I heard about their pancake flight and was sold. One of their dishes lets you choose 3 types of pancakes from their menu. A special breakfast sampler … I must go! We are going to visit the family in San Diego this summer so it is my destiny to dine at Snooze!
Home Meals for the Month of August
Joe and I enjoy eating out. As foodies and slaves of the hospitality industry we like to check out new eateries. But eating out is curbing our healthy habits and also putting a major dent in our wallets. We have decided that for the whole month of August we are going to eat meals made from our home. We will give ourselves a “pass” for one meal each week. This gives us a break from cooking, turns eating out into a treat and provides us a social outing. Why the month of August, we will both be home (no travel) and both of our work schedules are lighter in the summer which will make it easier for us to cook at home.
Learn Adobe Photoshop Elements 10
My hubby, the amazingly supportive guy that he is, bought me Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 a couple months ago. When I got it I immediately loaded the program onto my computer. But since that time I have yet to use it. That is going to end this summer. I pledge that I am going to learn the basics of Elements 10 and begin to refine my photos!
I need a gong to kick this thing off!
Anyone have a gong?
Well let’s pretend.
Let summer being!
