A couple weekends ago Joe and I went on a weekend getaway to San Diego. It was not for President’s Day like most people were traveling but for Grandma B’s 96th birthday. 96 …. I know …. It’s impressive …. And she can still kick my butt at Yahtzee! In addition to her birthday celebration we got to visit with family, enjoy AMAZING food from Southern Cali and of course enjoy the famously perfect San Diego weather. Here is a recap of our 4 day trip in 10 photos.
Arriving at the San Diego Airport. Can you see the Coronado Bridge?
In ‘n Out Burger is a required stop any time we visit California.
Happy Birthday Grandma B! You are fabulous!
Enjoyed a few rounds of Dominoes with my Dad and Brother. I won 3 out of 4 times! But who’s counting.
Service at Immaculate Conception Church to celebrate my Mom’s Cousin’s 40th wedding anniversary
A walk through the shops in Old Town, I just love all the color!
Mariachi Band for your backyard?
Lunch at Casa Guadalajara, a well known Mexican Restaurant in Old Town. I enjoyed the Mexican Combo Plate with Chile Rellenos, Beef Enchilada and Chicken tamale. I was stuffed and happy.
At Casa Guadalajara they make tortilla by hand and served hot and fresh with your meal. They are so good they melt in your mouth!
Photo adventure with my Dad at Seaport Village
We walked over to the USS Midway Museum
The 25 foot tall “Kissing Statue” also called “Unconditional Surrender” is next to the USS Midway and was a popular location for tourist and locals to stop and enjoy.
Our adventure ended with lunch at Pier Cafe. Fish Tacos were calling my name. They were wonderful, the perfect way to end a great weekend!
Thank you San Diego for a beautiful weekend!
Ok, so the recap was 13 pictures. But why share 10 when you could have a bakers dozen.
You stay classy San Diego!
