Part of the reason I started this blog was to share my love for food. But I also wanted to explore another favorite passion, photography. I am still learning, a beginner student, if you will. To provide me with an opportunity for practice and also a fun way to journal my day to day happenings, I am starting ‘pic du jour.’ Pic du jour will be a weekly look a pictures from everyday of my week. Join me and let’s see where this adventure takes us!
Monday: There is a pineapple in my front yard! We have a couple pineapple plants in our yard and over the past couple years they have grown some awesome fruit. A couple weeks ago I discovered this one growing. I will share more pictures as it grows.
Tuesday: Green Sky Growers is the venue for an Event Industry Reception. This roof top farm offers produce and tilapia for local restaurants and the farmers market.
Wednesday: When I was coming back from my walk I noticed that mint was taking over my herb garden. On the menu for the next month … mint …. 100 different ways.
Thursday: Our friends Michael and Michele are visiting from New York. They stay at Walt Disney World and we join them for dinner during their visit. Thursday was dinner at Flying Fish Cafe, one of our favorite restaurants. The ladies shared appetizers; Caesar Salad, Signature Flying Fish Cafe “Crispy Maine Coast Jonah Crab Cake”, Yellowfin Tuna Tartare and Crispy Tempura Tuna-Vegetable Sushi Roll and last but not least, Chardonnay-steamed PEI “Canadian Cove” Mussels.
Friday: We saw this tree with bright and beautiful yellow blooms while we were at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Afternoon showers just cleared which brought out the squirrels.
Saturday: The bunnies came out for Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival! It’s a never ending flower buffet for these furry friends.
Saturday – Bonus Picture: As we were walking to the France Pavilion in Epcot for dinner, we came across this family of ducks trying to cross a busy walkway. Everyone came to a stop, so this family of seven could get to the other side.
